I’ve owned my coaching business since 2008. I’ve seen A LOT of online businesses come and go. I’ve coached a lot of early-stage entrepreneurs and coaches.

And I’ve compiled a top 10 list of what’s holding you back from growing and helping more people.

Topics I touch on:

Compare and despair

Not doing the work

Busyness vs business

Falling in the “I can’t afford to get help” trap

No systems or structure

Wasting time

Being afraid to sell

Looking for shortcuts and magic pills

As Richard Branson has said, “If you spend your time looking for shortcuts, you will find one — right out of business. Creating a successful and profitable business takes time, since you build your reputation as customers learn to trust and rely on you, one by one.”

Commit to making a change today.

You can do this. Totally.

Welcome to Day 3 of GUTSY COACH WEEK and episode #100 of Get Gutsy!

I sit here in awe … as I bask in the significance of this moment.

100 episodes of this show have been served up to YOU, our treasured tribe member.

To look back on where I began my professional journey - in New York City, promoting some of the biggest brands in the world as a public relations executive - and now ponder all of the moves I made like …

  • Changing careers to become a conference producer and crossing the 6-figure mark and then feeling like a weirdo because I wasn’t happy
  • Training to become a yoga teacher while working full time
  • Quitting my job to start over and figure out what my calling was (yup, 6 figures to 0 figures overnight)
  • Discovering the field of coaching and diving into a rigorous training program
  • Investing a great deal of time, money and energy in online marketing training and coaching from successful entrepreneurs (because simply being a great coach just won’t cut it when you own your own business)
  • Guiding thousands of lightworker leaders to cash in on their calling through my book, podcast, free content, paid programs and more
  • Starting my own coaching school to fill a major gap in the market
  • Being named Coach of the Year by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business

All while being a wife to Steven and mom to my 3 kids Sean, Luke and Kate.

It hasn’t been easy (but it’s been worth it).

And it hasn’t been boring.

I stepped out as a coach in 2008 and I can honestly say this: I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE FIRED UP ABOUT MY WORK.

Enjoy this episode of Get Gutsy where we celebrate the amazing journey that you go on when you honor the call of your soul … and HELP MORE PEOPLE.

Today here in the United States, we sit on the precipice of one of the most important presidential elections in the history of our country.

So it seems fitting to offer you up a podcast episode focusing on the spirit of democracy, voting and using your voice.

Listen, I know that this presidential campaign has been ROUGH.

I’ve seen, heard and felt some things that are ugly, sad, disheartening and unbelievable.

AND … I’ve seen, heard and felt some things that are amazing, exciting, joyful and awe-inspiring.

This election cycle has been wild. Seriously.

And even though I’ve been super frustrated by a lot of what has gone on with all of the major parties (and the media), you better believe that today I’ll be at my local fire station - the site of our polling place - VOTING.

Especially as a woman, I know that it wasn’t so long ago that I didn’t have this right to cast a vote. The old laws essentially said, “Lady, your voice doesn’t matter as much as a white man’s voice.”

And I thank my sisters who were part of the women’s suffrage movement who FOUGHT (oftentimes sacrificing their lives) for my right to cast my ballot.

So I dedicate this episode of Get Gutsy to them, the Suffragettes.

I hope you enjoy it.

Get out the vote.

xoxo
