Before the year ends, I’m excited to share one more podcast episode with you that will touch your heart.

Andrea Wilson Woods and I met several years ago when she joined my coach training school. I could tell she had what it took to be an incredible coach. And I was impressed by her skills and background she brought to her work - writing, teaching and acting. She got to work coaching her clients and building her business.

I soon learned that like me, Andrea had also lost her younger sister to cancer. And she has truly turned that loss into something extraordinary that’s changing lives.

Andrea has a passion for advocating for liver cancer, which stemmed from her sister Adrienne’s diagnosis and fight with liver cancer as a child. She uses her knowledge and experience to run Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association, and her for-profit foundation, Cancer University.

Andrea wants to change the cancer paradigm in the United States and she believes to ignite change you have to go to the source: the patient. She wants to teach cancer patients and caregivers how to become advocates for themselves so they can change their cancer journey.

Tune in to discover:

  • Her journey of figuring out what work she was called to do (and why she couldn’t work for other people)
  • How she developed her coaching business and decided who she was uniquely designed to coach
  • Where the idea of Cancer University came from and how she got if off the ground
  • How she knows she’s on the right path
  • The amazing story of how she became legal guardian of her 8-year-old sister when she was 22
  • Why literary agents said her book was amazing but it wouldn’t sell
  • The story behind the name of her book “Better Off Bald”

About Our Guest:

Andrea Wilson Woods is a writer who loves to tell stories, and a patient advocate who founded the nonprofit Blue Faery: The Adrienne Wilson Liver Cancer Association. Andrea is the CEO and co-founder of Cancer University, a for-profit, social-benefit, digital health company. With Cancer U, Andrea synergizes her talents of coaching, writing, teaching, and advocacy. For over ten years, Andrea worked in the education field as a teacher and professor for public and private schools as well as universities. Andrea obtained her master’s degree in professional writing from the University of Southern California; her nonfiction writing has won national awards.

You know that feeling when something won’t leave you alone … and eventually you realize you MUST pay attention and heed the call to make a change?

Kelley Rakow - who grew up as a military kid - has lived and breathed this and now coaches her clients on how to align your inner knowing with your external reality.

11 years ago, she took action on this inner knowing when she and her husband co-founded and operated the first CrossFit Affiliate in Maryland without a plan or a ton of money to get started. After several incredible years running that business and offering group fitness classes, wellness coaching and events to their community, Kelley realized she wanted something different. After a multi-year transition process, the business was sold on Kelley’s 50th birthday (literally).

She was ready to tap into a new way of coaching - this time on the internet. Embracing technology to deliver her transformational message and lead her clients through her unique approach to fitness has opened up new worlds for Kelley and the women she coaches.

Her invitation for you: be who your soul says you are.

Tune in to discover:

  • How she developed tenacity, grit and the ability to thrive on change
  • How she knows when it’s time to make a change because something has run its course
  • The power of taking your skills and gifts and packaging them up differently
  • What happens when you peel away the layers and the lies
  • Why it’s okay to allow yourself to be the “first” or “only” to go on the ride of your life

About Our Guest:

Kelley Rakow is living her calling as a leader of women seeking Fitness for the Soul. She harnesses the expertise gained by opening, operating, and eventually selling the first CrossFit Affiliate in Maryland with her unique blend of health, life, and spiritual coaching to empower her clients to live strong in body and soul. She is a lifelong learner and loves books, barbells, and the beach. Kelley lives on the Atlantic coast of Maryland with her husband, 3 girls, 2 cats, 1 dog.

Cue the confetti: GET GUTSY is 4 years old today! Let’s celebrate this wild ride together … full of twists, turns and pivots.

Faith Marshall knows all about the art of the pivot. When she wanted more flexibility in her work schedule as a parent, she started a janitorial business. She pivoted from there when she launched a bookkeeping business.

After walking through her mother’s journey of Alzheimer’s and Dementia, she was again guided to make another pivot to serve families navigating this tricky, emotional road. Faith’s book “I Miss You Mom: A Daughter’s Journey Into Dementia Land” and speaking engagements (note: she used to have a fear of public speaking!) at memory care centers allow her to serve the specific community she seeks to help at this stage in her career.

Pivots equal power when you trust the call to make change.

Tune in to discover:

  • How going through emotional pain shows you where there is a need for something that doesn’t yet exist - and how to fill that gap
  • How becoming a coach opened up the next level of her business
  • Why it’s important to connect and support each other to not feel so alone
  • Have a fear of public speaking? How to get over it and leverage in-person connection to grow your community

About Our Guest:

Faith Marshall is an author, professional business woman and entrepreneur at heart. As life is often unpredictable, Faith found herself faced with her mother’s Dementia diagnosis, which ultimately pushed her to face both denial and fear head on.

While writing and publishing her personal story, “I Miss You Mom: A Daughter’s Journey Into Dementia Land” Faith felt compelled to make a drastic change in her life. As she embarked on a journey that would ultimately lead her to her true purpose, Faith knew she had to challenge herself and also support the Alzheimer’s and Dementia community. She currently works directly in support of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Community providing private coaching, group support and resources to families.

As we move into the darkest part of the year and the very potent celebrations of Halloween and Samhain, I invite you to revel in what it is to be a woman fully in her power.

Fully in her creations.

Fully in her desires.

Fully in her abundance.

Fully in her magic.

Fully awake.

And taking a stand for the work that is yours to create and own and share.

This is one of my favorite pieces of content I've ever created!

I love this proverb: "The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

The message I get from this: don’t let your mind run the show. It’s not in charge. It has an important role to play, but it’s not the one that should be leading the way for you.

You have to learn to trust your intuition more. Trust the things that you just know (even when they don’t make logical sense). Trust your heart.

The role of the mind is to serve the truth of the heart.

When you are truly doing the work you are meant to be doing, you have to trust that the Universe will provide what is necessary for you to succeed. Doors will open for you. It will be up to you to decide that you’re worthy of walking through these doors.

Tune into this episode of Get Gutsy if you know it’s time stop living in your head and start trusting yourself more.

Here’s what I know to be true >>

Your Thoughts + Vibration + Actions = YOUR FUTURE

I know you want more in your business - more impact, creative expression, alignment, fun, committed clients, consistent revenue.

If you really want to make this your reality, you must take bold action … even when you’re scared (remember that fear is excitement without the breath).

Whenever I take the leap to put my work out there, the Universe always helps me out. Every time. I’ve learned that the Universe is always conspiring on my behalf. And the same is true for you.

It’s okay to feel scared or unsure when you step out of your comfort zone but I promise you that clarity comes through your willingness to make moves.

Tune into this episode of Get Gutsy if you know it’s time for bold action in your business.

When was the last time you had FUN in your business? Like REALLY had some fun with the work and allowed it to feel light and flowy instead of heavy and so scripted?

I want you to stop putting this off. I want you to start having more fun - in business and in your everyday life - starting today.

If you need a permission slip, I’m giving you a pink piece of paper with your name written on it right now.

This FUN concept especially comes in handy when you are SELLING THINGS and INVITING people in to work with you and sign up for your creations.

Tune into this episode of Get Gutsy to hear how you can harness the energy of playdates and sleepovers in your business to attract more incredible clients you’ll adore. Sounds kinda crazy, but that’s where the FUNNEST ideas come from.

What do you know you need to stop doing?

What must you let go of as we enter a brand new season of transformation and growth?

What will happen when you let go of this habit, of this relationship, of this client, of this old way of thinking, of this old way of not fully valuing yourself?

I'm giving you permission. Just let it go. Drop those bags, drop those weights. Leave them right there where you are.

You don't need this anymore. You're done. You're complete. You're allowed. So today, let us celebrate what you are stopping.

Tune into this episode as I guide you through this process.

What are clients really investing in when they buy from you? Your energy. Not the fact that they get X number of this or Y number of that. Certainly the elements of your offer are important, but they aren’t nearly as important as the energy you bring to the work. Your energy ripples out to their energy ripples out to their results. Energy is everything.

You need to ensure that you have the energy to have the conversations that need to be happening about the offers and opportunities in your business.

Your energy is coming across in how you're showing up and the types of clients that you’re attracting in (or not). Be intentional here.

On this episode of Get Gutsy, I’ll help you tune into what you are letting go of to rise higher in your sacred work.

We’re talking procrastination, doubt, fear, thoughts that you're not good enough, relationships, clutter, unhealthy habits and more.

Let’s talk about getting paid, shall we?

TRUTH: You are going to struggle if you feel guilty about charging for your incredible work. You are going to struggle if you make it really hard for someone to pay you or if you feel bad when you receive money or if you aren’t willing to sell.

We’re going there today on this episode of Get Gutsy. May it remind you that your dream clients will gladly pay you to do your amazing work. You’ve simply got to get out of your own way and do your part!

Aug 27, 2019

When you decide to go all in on your business, the most amazing things will occur. This is connected to you saying what you came here to say. And backing up your words with deeds.

Is there something you’ve been on the edge of saying but haven’t been saying? Is there something you’ve been saying, but you need to bang the drum louder so it can be heard by more amazing people who want to work with you?

The root of saying what you came here to say is TRUTH.

Do you feel that you’ve been telling the truth? That you’ve been living the truth? That you’ve been a physical embodiment of the truth?

If you’re not showing up … if you’re not in faith … if you’re not consistent, then you are not doing your part. And it’s time to make a change.

This episode walks you through a simple practice to get up close and personal on how to shift into honest, aligned action right now.

You’ve gotta love a woman with moxie. And that’s why Alexia Vernon, a former Miss Junior America who was later named a “Moxie Maven” by President Obama’s White House Office of Public Engagement, is so rad.

If you’re ready to walk into any room, or onto any stage, and speak with moxie - so you can radically (and positively) impact your audience, business and community, you definitely want to tune into today’s show.

Get ready to hear:

  • Why the manifestation of fear is different for entrepreneurs vs corporate employees
  • How Alexia is able to show up differently on all platforms while creating a consistent message
  • How to navigate anxiety when speaking
  • Why you shouldn’t hide behind your slides
  • How Alexia successfully partners with her husband in business, life and parenting

There only has been one other episode of this show in almost four years that has featured two guests being interviewed simultaneously. Today is episode number two. And it’s a powerful one so get ready to meet Nick and Katherine North, a beautiful couple living with their children in Canada.

Katherine was a cynic who didn't even believe in true love...until she accidentally fell in love at almost 40-years-old with her best friend, Nick.

But when they fell in love, he wasn't "Nick"... he was "Nikki." And, Nikki was pregnant with baby #4!

Assigned female at birth, Nick always knew deep down he was a man trapped in a woman's body. A stay-at-home pregnant mom and family photographer who didn’t think life could ever be any different, he was stuck in a life that should have made him happy but wasn’t his own.

Together, they navigated Nick's transition from female to male as a couple and as parents and as business owners.

They negotiated the challenges of transitioning while blending a family and keeping their businesses afloat. They continue maneuvering through marriage, parenting five kids, nontraditional gender roles (who pays the bills and does the dishes?), and so much more.

Nick and Katherine teach us that every family is different, and families can be more than the traditional man, woman and kids and it’s okay to live in our absolute truth. Once we own up to our truth, success will follow.

Tune in to hear:

  • How being more honest and open led Nick to be more successful in his business
  • How Nick + Katherine have systematized their home life with clearly defined roles
  • Why you should examine what old rules are you living by that need to be redefined so you can have harmonious friction
  • How to speak from the scar, not the wound
  • Why you should have conversations with your partner to come to agreement and mutual compromise on things you both want
  • About their work to bring awareness to diverse and incredible families

About Our Guests:

With true stories, embarrassing anecdotes, and practical advice, Nick and Katherine North show their audience and clients how to start taking brave steps in their own lives, wherever they are starting.

Nick and Katherine recently received a grant from Storyhive to create a documentary film about their family called “Just Another Beautiful Family” and are developing the "Beautiful Families" project which will include a conference, podcast, and supportive online community for all sorts of nontraditional families. They have appeared on numerous stages and media outlets.

One of my favorite things to talk about is selling. Because a woman who knows how to sell is fully free.

Selling is not dirty. Selling is not gross. Selling is not wrong. (Even though there will be people who tell you otherwise.) You do not need to feel any shame or guilt about selling. None.

Selling allows you to deeply help your people … and make beautiful money and impact to change the world.

Tune in to this episode of Get Gutsy to hear the work required to become unstoppable in your business. We’re talking receiving, guilt, shame, sovereignty, the patriarchy and owning your power.

We’ve just completed our third school year of homeschooling and I’ve received a lot of questions about homeschooling from entrepreneur friends and friends of friends - online and in my local community here in the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

The main question >> how do you homeschool AND run a business? How is this even possible?

Up to now I’ve connected 1:1 with these brave, curious souls, but have been wanting to create this episode so I can share tips and lessons learned with a wider audience. It is my intention to help you walk this path with confidence and grace if you choose to.

Homeschooling has been such a blessing for our family. It was the thing I never wanted that I have come to realize I always wanted. These moments - although many of them are HARD - are moments we will always treasure with our children.

Tune in as I share the answers to the most common questions I’ve received through the years. And please do share this episode with a friend who is contemplating this path for her family.

Laura Garnett believes that work can and should be one of the most rewarding aspects of life. I agree. Unfortunately not everyone has figured out exactly HOW to make this dream their reality. That’s where this episode of Get Gutsy comes in handy.

Laura is a performance strategist who honed her chops at Google, Capital One and an internet startup. It was at this startup that she was laid off. Instead of letting that setback defeat her, Laura decided to move forward and create her dream job from scratch by asking herself two questions: “who am I?” and “what am I meant to do?”

These questions led Laura down the path of entrepreneurship and discovering her methodology for finding long-lasting professional happiness and building the GENIUS HABIT that makes extraordinary accomplishment all but guaranteed.

Listen to this conversation to learn what kind of habits you need to build in order to do things differently, be more aligned with who you are, and achieve what you want.

Tune in to discover:

  • How the methodology in Laura’s book “The Genius Habit” was developed and the talk that motivated her to get it done

  • Why it is important to come up with your own definition of success

About Our Guest:

Laura is a performance strategist, TEDx speaker, and the creator of the Genius Habit. She works with CEOs and executives to identify their unique genius and purpose, and craft an actionable plan to leverage them in their day-to-day work.

One of your greatest assets is the ability and courage to say what you really mean.

It’s easy to beat around the bush or water down your truth for fear of being misunderstood or criticized.

The desire to want to play it safe and blend in is real.

But this is not wise.

Today, I invite you to truly go there.

Speak the truth.

Live the truth.

Be the truth in your words and in your work.

This episode features a live training from my Cash In On Your Calling series that is currently running in my Facebook group called Gutsy Leaders of Wisdom. It’s a free offering all this month so come on in and join us. The training you’ll hear today is all about SAYING WHAT YOU MEAN TO SAY.

I also share some insights into why Gabby Bernstein’s Spirit Junkie Masterclass changed my life and why I believe in it so deeply for my community.

Being a coach and growing your business is a spiritual quest and faith walk. This journey will bring to your knees. You must be willing to heal your wounds and become the strongest leader possible. This is not easy. You’ll have many twists and turns. And you’ll meet many incredible people on the journey with messages you’re meant to receive.

Tara Mullarkey is one of these women I’m blessed to have met. And now I get to share her brilliance with you. I know you’re going to get so much out of this conversation! Get ready to get rocked.

Tara is a business coach and feminine embodiment mentor who started her career on a traditional corporate path. A layoff from her well-paying corporate job was manifested through her spiritual work, and led her on an unplanned 3-year journey around the world to find herself and follow her destiny. Having the courage to live in places like Thailand, Bali, and Tulum allowed her to crush her limiting beliefs and ignore the naysayers to get to where she is today.

She encourages women to do the inner work on themselves, embrace the fact that therapy is necessary, not taboo, and understand that strong women will change the world.

Tune in to discover:

  • How Tara crushed her limiting beliefs to transition from her traditional corporate background to her spiritual coaching work
  • Her early experience with yoga training and how she distanced herself from voices of criticism
  • How her travels around the world shaped her spiritual development and knowledge of her work
  • The changes that made her decide to fully immerse herself in her business
  • One thing that irritates her about the coaching industry
  • Why you can’t help and teach others before you have done the work on yourself
  • Why the crisis will create the change
  • What she thinks her gutsiest and most creative move has been so far

About Our Guest:

Tara is a Master Business Coach & Feminine Embodiment Mentor, creator of the Online Temple School for the Divine Feminine, the High Ticket Empress Business Course, a podcast host, and facilitates workshops and intensives around the world.

She works with women on reclaiming their Sovereignty - sensually, emotionally, financially.

After quitting corporate America and finishing her MBA, she traveled the world in India, Thailand, Bali, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Tulum, Mexico, and built a half a million dollar personal development and media company.

Through her own healing to overcome trauma, complex-PTSD from family of origin attachment wounds, anger, shame, and codependency, she share her truths vulnerably from a deep sense of compassion and she deeply believes that sensually empowered, embodied, and wealthy women will change the world.

When my path crossed with Martine De Luna, I knew immediately she was a superstar.

One of my jobs as a coach is to spot talent. And Martine’s got it.

I’ve had the good fortune of coaching Martine - a mindset coach and personal brand strategist - in a few of my programs and helping her step more fully into her great work.

Hailing from the Philippines, Martine has a uniquely global perspective. On today’s show, she gets raw and real about letting go of her martyr mentality, questioning everything, stepping away from the traditional path and finding your bliss. Martine’s story proves that even when tough experiences are thrown your way, you don’t have to stay broken. You can break through.

Come and hear what Martine is taking a stand for in her work (this had her tossing and turning until she was ready to claim it). It’s powerful!

Tune in to discover:

  • Why she gets up in the morning
  • Her international upbringing as a third culture kid
  • How she followed her intuition and learned to question everything to follow the aligned path
  • How applying for a freelancer position that she found on Craigslist really paid off
  • Her journey as a blogger and a consultant to bloggers
  • Why she consistently seeks out and invests in mentors to help her grow
  • The series of events that broke her and caused her to shift her plan of action, and the business that got her back on her feet
  • The power of repetition

About Our Guest:

Martine is a Mindset Coach & Blissful Personal Brand Strategist for freedom-minded women who are hacking life to create a lifestyle of bliss and abundance in all areas.

xoxo
